How to reduce size of any AI applications (Forge, ComfyUI, InvokeAI, Fooocus, SwarmUI, Kohya_SS...) (Windows)

1)Installation

1.Download a CompactGUI

2)Usage

1.Run a CompactGUI.exe

2.Select folder with AI Tools or folder of AI application

3.Select compression mode - LZX, watch folder for changes

4.Click to compress button
5.Done

1)Does it affect performance?

It can affect performance if the CPU is old and slow, like a two-core one. The effect on most CPUs can be less than 3%, and on the latest and modern CPUs, it will have no effect at all.

2)Does it change or replace the original files?

No, they use an LZX or LZ77 family compression algorithm. They compress files like 7ZIP or WinRAR but in real time.

3) Is it possible to uncompress files to their original state?

Yes

4)What if already compressed files are changing? Like an update of some DLL libraries.

The compress will be reset for files that are replaced during the update. To return the compress need do compressing again.
