Bug alert: Your public article collection is NOT visible (and how to fix it)

If you're one of the relatively few people to use public collections seriously, and one of the subset of those to make a public article collection, you have likely been effected by a bug that renders it invisible to all users (even yourself!) if they check your public collections in your profile, or in collection search. Luckily, there is an easy fix if you're aware of the issue: Go to your article collection via "my collections" (where it will show up), click the three vertical dot icon in the upper right, click "edit collection", and add a cover image.

The bug appears to be that article collections have no default cover image (like image and model collections do), but will not show up without one set. When finalizing my prior article on collections, I noticed how few article collections there were and made collections for my two ongoing article series. After realizing it wasn't showing up in my profile, I troubleshooted it, isolated the bug, reproduced it, and found a workaround.

Since I could clearly identify a cause and reproduce, I've already reported it (6% of users, 40% of useful bug reports!). However, given how collections are an underloved feature and the site has been on fire the last few days (giving developers far more pressing matters), I expect any fix won't be for some time. Thus I recommend every applicable user (however few of us there may be) fix it themselves if they see this article and have the opportunity.
