Civitai the Wildwest Part.2
10th of November 2024 i wrote the Article CIvitai the Wildwest predicting the future of the site based on logic.
now more then half year later i will do the same.
this is a path of only one outcome that i see if drastic measures not going to take place. The list of people with unique styles, cool vision and overall feeling for scenes are growing larger and larger every day, who are leaving. by now the daylies are the only thing that is SFW on this site (and also 1 sfw to every 100 nsfw pictures) the bidding system made a lot of people with 1k+ followers leave because they saw right through the paywall that it is and left.
We have now a bidding system that will only favour NSFW checkpoints. because its NSFW site. not an AI site where you can be inspired and inspire others as it was intended, no its a prn site. A site that is build on the premise of most boring AI-porn that you could see anywhere dublicated by 20 times the same picture in different angle. it bores me to death only to think about it tbh...
what we know so far
visa and mastercard said NO!
subscription is impossible
people leaving because they can`t do SFW content they want to do
people leaving because they can`t do NSFW content they want to do
unstable site every day
lot of companies advertisement left
reporting system goes (money/followers/influence/TOS violation) in that order
creativity is getting chocked out
here is my prediction till the end of the year:
they find a new payment company, that will drop them as soon as they find out that its a pornsite where you can generate (that sort of bad content that not even fits the NSFW mark)
more people will leave after that
they make another stupid idea with buzz
more people will leave after that
more advertisers will leave
server providers will stop hosting civitai
civitai becomes more and more unstable
more people will leave after that
gold and eventually red names will start to leave
Civitai becomes SFW only
more people will leave
civitai goes down
what can the site do:
2 weeks per month blocking NSFW content
new reportsystem with the help of top 20 alltime guardians
10.000 buzz per month possible for reporting
advertising over yt influencers
give annual buzz pay out for users with 1k+ followers
try to win back people who left by giving out unique decorations for example
make comments earn buzz with 50+ letters
don´t stuck poupular Checkpoints that are build for SFW behind a biddingsystem for NSFW
reduce 10 to 5 daylie pictures for 300buzz
make one day per week 50% off on SDXL,Pony,Illustrious or Flux
encourage colaberations by cool decorations for example
make contests of best picture that will be featured as cover of the site for a day
build a civitai red for x and xxx
run normal civitai for PG,PG13 and R
and then is the stuff that users have to do
REPORT, REPORT, REPORT!
if you want to have this site stay alive you have to do it!
REVIEW, REVIEW, REVIEW!
Review your own content with a critical eye!
its a phase btw.
like banning napster or mp3, or burning movies on dvd´s
AI is unstopable the geenie is out of the bottle, stuff will become wild in couple years
and it will be not able to be regulated. what this is happening is like always scare tactics
of something new. AI is like internet. this is it. if civitai survives this phase of being hammered down then they will come up as monster as the topdog out of this...but drastic measures has to be taken first.
