K/N Updates for July 2025
Hey ALL! Quick small update.
We aren't quitting.
We aren't leaving this time around.
Seems like every July we've wanted to leave for some reason.
2025's a little different. We've been REALLY behind because of trying to focus on our personal relationships, and as well, trying to start getting Dataset Tools working better. 6+ weeks later and the application is starting to really form as being a strong contender for things!
We're going to work on trying to start developing a Jupyter (not Colab compatible) version of popular lora trainers for those that want something simple to just DROP onto their desktop and has easy pop-up widgets like the Colabs we're all used to. We're VERY sure we can tackle this, as we've been heavily spending the last six weeks diving into Python head-first. Now we understand more of the logic of Python we can come back to our old notebooks and try and improve them once again!
We WILL release more of our checkpoints that we have, but after CaughtUp we likely won't have enough buzz income to be able to feature any for generation. We're not expecting anything out of the buzz economy until things pick up in the next couple of months, so maybe eventually we'll get back to doing that!
We're recognizing the corporatization of AI a little more, and despite our want to still be friendly and up-front, we do want to attempt to pull back on our loudness in some areas.
We didn't forget about Pride Month, we were just extremely busy.
We're here for Plural Pride Month, because to us that's every day.
But just missed International Non-Binary People's Day by an inch!
We ARE MAYBE going to look into re-monetizing in the next month or so. The previous article iteration stated "51 USD," but it seems VERY LIKELY I didn't check for currency changes.
This isn't Civitai's fault; I had exhaustion eyes.
We won't be doing it likely until August or September at this stage. We'd really like to have a good amount of content back to give you and right now isn't because Civitai is a problem — it's because I myself (Duskfallcrew of Ktiseos Nyx) have had a lot of family issues going on with my stepfather having a stroke back in April and my mother being in stage 2 COPD, as well as having Rheumatoid Arthritis. As well as being in a business and personal relationship with the two other heads of Ktiseos Nyx. If it weren't for T3RRA (Earth) and Angel, I'd still be in the back of the corner throwing my toys out of the cot and screeching at Ally and the rest.
I may dislike what happened earlier in the year, but time can sort of — not always HEAL right away wounds, you have to live with the scars first... but you can rebuild trust, and you can rebuild yourself right where you started.
We're trying not just as a singular individual, but a brand between us three, and of course individually as a brand for our music and other aspects, to try and be more focused. We're not able to work traditionally, and the AI landscape is changing so much.
We're so proud of where everyone is coming in the AI landscape and battling all the changes from the laws and regulations. The nuance of technology changing is important, and I'm not going to lie: AI is still incredibly scary. But it can produce powerful things if you treat it like a tool, not the be all and end all of your content.
It's a great learning tool, it's a great artistic concept generator, it's a great thing for people just looking to dabble and make their own images. It's great for coding, and AI agents start taking the hard part out of doing everything the old way. Development of applications isn't just about "CODING," it's about designing the user interaction, and Ktiseos Nyx has definitively learned that in doing Dataset tools and of course learning how AI generative models work...
