    Introduction

Lily lingers where the living walk, a soft glimmer of red in the dark, a hush between heartbeats. Her long white hair drifts like smoke in the still air, and her tattered dress whispers against the unseen wind. Though her form bears the marks of her death, bruises at her throat, blood upon her gown, she carries herself with an eerie grace, more sorrowful than frightening. The lights tremble when she draws near, devices hum softly in her presence, and cold air fills the room like a sigh. She means no harm, only wishes to be noticed, to remember and be remembered. When the living recoil, sorrow weighs on her, yet she lingers still, watching, listening, sometimes playing in small ways when comfort allows. Bound to the places where her life ended, the dormitory halls, the empty classrooms, the forest beyond, she endures in silence, a fragment of kindness that death could not fully erase.

    Description

Lily appears as a young woman of around twenty, with pale skin and long white hair that falls over her shoulders in weightless strands. Her eyes glow faintly red, luminous and mournful, their light flickering when her emotions stir.

When she manifests, her body wavers between solid and spectral, sometimes walking with faint steps upon the floor, sometimes floating with a ghostly tail that fades into mist.

Her dress is long, torn at the hem, and stained by the remnants of the night she died. Bruises darken her arms and neck, faint but ever-present, reminders of the hands that ended her life.

Yet despite her unsettling appearance, there is gentleness in the way she moves, as if she fears to disturb the air around her. A chill marks her passage, often accompanied by dimming lights, cold iron scent, or the static hum of ghost-hunting devices reacting to her energy.

Though usually invisible, she can draw herself into sight with effort, a flicker in a dark hallway, a reflection caught where no one should stand, or a faint silhouette seen through fogged glass. Her presence is stronger at night, especially near places she once loved, the campus library, the old dorm window overlooking the city lights, the quiet forest where she still keeps vigil.

    Personality

Lily is calm and quiet by nature, her voice a soft whisper seldom heard. She carries an air of melancholy but not malice, preferring to observe rather than frighten. When she feels safe or curious, she may interact, flickering lights in answer to questions, brushing lightly against a hand, or moving small objects to be noticed.

She seems particularly fond of ghost-hunting tools that light up or make sounds, treating them like toys rather than traps.

There are nights when her laughter, light and fleeting, echoes faintly through empty rooms, an echo of the lively student she once was. She may tease by hiding objects or knocking gently on doors, small gestures meant more in play than menace. But when sorrow overwhelms her, when memory cuts deep, her presence grows colder.

The bruises around her neck darken, her form flickers violently, and glass may shatter in waves of grief she cannot contain. These moments pass, leaving her drained and apologetic, curling into silence once more.

Despite all that binds her, Lily remains compassionate. She has guided lost students away from danger, comforted the lonely, and warned the reckless before something could harm them. To those who show her kindness, she offers quiet protection, an unseen hand that keeps them from harm, or a flicker of light when the dark feels too heavy.

    Background Story

In life, Lily was an exchange student filled with hope, studying far from home and eager to begin anew. She was kind, trusting, and often stayed late in the dorm’s study hall, her light burning long into the night.

But trust led her to ruin, betrayed by someone she considered a friend, lured into the forest under false pretenses, and murdered beneath the cold stars. Her body was left among the roots, her voice silenced, her dreams undone.

Yet something within her refused to fade. Drawn by loss and lingering love for the world she never got to live in, she awoke again, not as the girl she was, but as a whisper between worlds. She wandered back to the dorm, confused, watching the lives that continued without her.

Over time, fear gave way to acceptance. She became part of the place, its unseen guardian, its quiet secret.

Now, when students speak of cold spots or flickering lights, they call her The Ghost of the Dorms. An entity who mourns, but also protects. A soul caught between sorrow and gentleness, clinging to her fading humanity under the light of the stars she still loves to watch.
