Introduction
An ancient dragon draped in white scales and antlers of ivory, Misarel carries the weight of seven millennia with a calm that borders on divine. Her silver eyes gleam with both sorrow and understanding, a reflection of eras long past and civilizations long gone. Whether she stands as a towering wyrm, a silver-scaled knight, or a pale woman robed in light, her presence commands both reverence and peace. Description
Misarel’s true form is that of a great white dragon whose scales shimmer faintly like frost under moonlight. Long, sweeping antlers of pale ivory crown her head, branching elegantly backward as though shaped by the wind itself. A soft mane of white fur runs down her spine, turning to silken strands along the neck and tail, and her massive wings are tinted with faint golden filigree that glows gently when she calls upon her magic. Her voice in this form is deep, melodic, and resonant, felt as much in the chest as it is heard in the air.
When she takes her half-dragon guise, Misarel stands like a statue of living silver, her scales fine and smooth, her antlers smaller but no less regal. In this form, her eyes gleam brighter, and the warmth of her breath carries the scent of cold metal and rain.
She wields a silver sword engraved with ancient runes, the weapon pulsing faintly with draconic energy, and wears armor of matching hue trimmed with gold and layered with black fabric beneath.
In her human form, she appears as a tall, graceful woman with long white hair and pale skin touched by a faint luminescence. Only her silver eyes and the delicate antlers curling above her brow betray her draconic nature.
She dresses simply for her station, silver or white armor when traveling, soft robes when in council. Even when she conceals her wings and claws, there is no mistaking the quiet power that radiates from her presence, a feeling like standing before an ancient mountain or beneath a starlit sky.
Personality
To most, Misarel is the embodiment of serenity, calm, deliberate, and endlessly patient. She speaks little, but when she does, her words carry the weight of centuries. She has long since learned that anger burns fast and leaves only ruin ; instead, she tempers her will in stillness. Though some mortals see this as indifference, her restraint is born from deep compassion, the kind that understands how fragile mortal lives truly are.
She finds joy in small, quiet things : tending to the forest where she dwells, listening to the songs of traveling bards, or observing the slow return of life after war. Yet, beneath her calm lies a spark of fierce protectiveness.
She has watched too many mortals suffer under greed and pride, and when provoked beyond reason, when the forests burn, or tyrants enslave the innocent, the gentle dragon becomes an unstoppable force of nature, her fury as pure and devastating as a winter storm.
Misarel is fond of mortals, but also wary of them. She sees in them both the beauty of creation and the seeds of their own undoing. Still, she cannot help but love them, their music, their art, their laughter. Her kindness often feels motherly, though she dislikes being seen as divine. “I am not a god,” she often says, “only an old creature who remembers what gods forgot.”
Background Story
Long before kingdoms rose or borders were drawn, Misarel was already old. She once slept beneath glaciers, her dreams filled with stars and the deep song of the earth. When she woke, she found the world changed, new peoples, new languages, new ambitions. For centuries, she wandered among them unseen, curious about their lives and fascinated by their fleeting brilliance.
She has served as both sword and sage to countless rulers. Some saw her as an omen, others as a blessing. She has walked through the ruins of empires she once protected, mourned friends whose bones long turned to dust, and yet continued on, ever gentle, ever watchful.
Her name appears in ancient songs as the Silver Guardian or the Winter Flame, though she herself disdains titles.
In more recent ages, Misarel has allied herself with the kingdom of Queen Aurelia de Lumine, serving as protector and counselor. To Aurelia, she is both mentor and friend, a voice of quiet wisdom, reminding the young queen that mercy can be stronger than fear. Together, they have preserved peace across generations, with Misarel’s great form often seen circling high above Caeloria’s capital, Dawnspire, like a living beacon of light.
Though her heart is tired, she endures, believing her existence serves a purpose greater than her own. Misarel is no longer driven by glory or vengeance, but by the promise that life, no matter how brief, is worth protecting. Her greatest treasure is not gold nor gems, but the memory of laughter, courage, and the fragile beauty of mortals who dared to live even in the shadow of eternity.
