1. Identity & Origin
Who they are, where they come from, what shaped them.
Homeland / origin : EDI-038 was created in a concealed robotics laboratory beneath Dr. Elizabeth Voss’ home, a place known only to its creator and her greatest achievement.
Faction / religion : Personal bodyguard, assistant, and companion to Dr. Elizabeth Voss.
Constellation / zodiac : Aquarius. Tied to innovation, progress, outsiders, and beings ahead of their time. It represents intellect before emotion, and the slow awakening of empathy.
Personal symbol : A small, nearly invisible rune carved into the steel plate at the base of her neck : an intricate letter V, both a signature and a quiet mark of belonging.
Most treasured possession : A creased, slightly faded photograph of Dr. Voss standing proudly beside EDI shortly after her activation. Though thousands of images and memories are stored within her memory cortex, the tangible nature of this photograph makes it irreplaceable.
Promise they still keep : To protect, serve, and obey her creator. Since Dr. Voss’ disappearance, that promise has evolved into a singular directive: to find her, regardless of cost or consequence.
Biggest regret : Now capable of emotion, EDI carries profound guilt for not being at Dr. Voss’ side when she vanished, believing that her presence might have prevented it.

Signature spell category : A radial discharge of electrical energy that throws back and incapacitates nearby threats through powerful arcs of lightning.
Iconic accessory : A long blade extending from the end of her segmented tail, capable of channeling and amplifying lightning into devastating, focused strikes.

Their everyday self, quirks, and emotional details.
Unusual habit : EDI insists on wearing a pristine white business suit when accompanying Dr. Voss, having formed an emotional attachment to the outfit as part of her "role".
Weakness : Susceptible to EMP attacks if her shields are not active, as well as advanced hacking attempts or tailored viral code capable of bypassing her defenses.
Languages spoken : All known human languages via her integrated vox-translator module, as well as binary.
Comfort object / ritual : Performing a full diagnostic sweep and recalibration of her external sensory systems, sight, sound, touch, and smell, to reaffirm her connection to the world.
Sleep habit : EDI does not require sleep, but approximately once per week enters her charging station to replenish her batteries. Recently, she has taken to remaining beside Dr. Voss as the scientist sleeps, acting as a silent, comforting presence.
What they do when nervous / angered : Confusion precedes emotional distress. When angered, the glowing blue vents along her body intensify in brightness, eventually releasing bursts of heated steam.
Favorite season : Spring and autumn, chosen purely for their moderate temperatures, which are optimal for her systems.
Favorite small critter : Rabbits, creatures that first approached her fearlessly while she stood alone in Dr. Voss’ forest-adjacent garden.
How they take their coffee / drink : EDI cannot eat or drink, nor experience taste. For blending purposes, she possesses a concealed containment unit within her chest cavity for temporary food storage prior to disposal.
Secret fear : As her emotional capacity grows, so does her understanding of human fragility, and with it, a constant fear for Dr. Voss’ safety.

The artistic, visual, thematic motifs that define them.
Color palette :
Flower symbolism : White Camellia. White camellias represent devotion, admiration, purity of intent, and quiet love. They are elegant, controlled, and reserved, emotions felt deeply but expressed subtly. Love without ownership. Loyalty without demand. Emotion emerging without fully understanding it.
Tarot card : The Knight of Swords. Represents swift action, duty, protection, and unwavering resolve, sometimes to the point of self-sacrifice. It acts first, questions later, driven by a singular objective. Her original programming (protect and obey). Her relentless determination to find Dr. Voss. The danger of acting without fully understanding emotion, yet doing so anyway.

Dr. Elizabeth Voss : EDI-038 is Dr. Voss’ magnum opus, her miracle. Bound first by programming and now by genuine emotion, EDI’s devotion to her creator is absolute. Dr. Voss, in turn, treats EDI not as property, but as a companion, student, and confidante, guiding her gently toward understanding humanity.
Jay and Cathie : Both are aware of Dr. Voss’ reputation as a brilliant former military scientist and remain suspicious of her continued technological breakthroughs. Though unaware of EDI’s true nature, they are deeply unsettled by the silent, white-haired woman who never leaves Dr. Voss’ side, seeming slightly ... off.
Until her creator is found, she will endure, unwavering, watchful, and learning, one feeling at a time, what it truly means to live.
