SAGE v1.1 — The Notebooks & Styles Update

The next step of Free Open Source AI Creation Engine.

Hello everyone!

It has been an intense journey since the first release of SAGE and we just had our first stable release v1.0 ...

I have been heads-down working on expanding what SAGE can do, this time specifically focusing on integrating new external notebooks to bring a massive array of new visual capabilities to your creative environment.

For the SAGE v1.1 release, I want to take a step back from the technical details to focus on the community that makes this possible. While SAGE provides the orchestration and the engine, the fuel comes from the incredible open-source community.

Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

We must first acknowledge the visionaries at Stability AI. As the initiators of Stable Diffusion and the creators of SDXL Turbo, their generosity in providing open-source foundation models is the bedrock upon which SAGE is built.

I also want to shine a spotlight on John6666 on Hugging Face for transferring and converting countless models for diffusers usage. Thank you for being the bridge that connects us to these resources.

SAGE uses a constellation of external services:

• Kaggle Client (New): Notebook-driven anime model inference.

• Pollinations.ai: High-speed, accessible image generation.

• External Chat / LLM APIs: Used for prompt creation, chat, and workflow automation.

What is SAGE?

SAGE (Storyboard Animation Generation Environment) is an open-source multimedia AI orchestration platform running fully on Android via Termux.

SAGE uses PHP + Bash to orchestrate external inference engines, handle batch creation, and manage storyboards visually and efficiently.

Its UI includes mobile-first responsive galleries with swipe navigation, and a story-centric semantic database enabling complex narrative control.

This architecture enables creators to manage complex narratives and distinct story elements within a sequential timeline while orchestrating batch workflows and handling storyboards locally, with heavy processing seamlessly delegated to remote servers.
