PC is back in action. Edit: Maybe

Figured I should give an update on my MB troubles since I did an article on them. After a grueling touch and go multi-hour long surgery to swap the MB (half of which was figuring out what cables went to what slots, and at least half an hour was spent faffing with the small ones that connect power and reset) my PC is back up with 32 GB of RAM. Now I can continue playing Game of the Year 2025 Onirism. (Seriously: Go play Onirism. It's awesome, just be sure to use French voices).

Lost LEDs (new MB doesn't have the power socket for them. Weird on a new MB but not a big deal since I had just set those things to stay dim red anyways), and gained onboard wi-fi.

Edit: Still playing with fan profile to get fans to stop peaking everytime there's a brief spike in usage. Has the main models listing always had huge CPU use spikes, especially as you go further down? I knew it was a pig for RAM. We need pages! Down with infinite scroll!

Edit: Or not? I seem to have had many co-morbidities. RAM failed again, and I managed to get ahold of an old workstation to test it. Each set of two has a failed stick. How did the initial test pass? Will have to see if the lifetime warranty on this RAM is actually honored.
