Weekend Mode Activated 🔥

I genuinely like Civitai.

I like the people, the community, the freedom, and the slightly chaotic creative energy that comes with it. Over time you even get used to some of the platform quirks. That’s part of the charm.

I don’t generate images online. I work locally and mostly use Civitai as a stage to share images, stories, and ideas.

Right now though… that stage is a bit closed off.

The image analysis system seems to have gone on weekend. That would be totally understandable for a small hobby project. But Civitai isn’t that anymore. It’s a monetized platform, and that’s completely fine — servers don’t pay for themselves.

But once money is involved, expectations naturally change.

Lately it sometimes feels like the platform is hopping from bug to bug:

• Notifications broken

• Generation struggling

• Chat issues

• Now uploads / image analysis

At the moment it’s almost risky to upload images, because by the time things are fixed, the 24-hour visibility window might already be gone and posts disappear into the void.

What’s most frustrating, though, isn’t even the bug itself. Bugs happen. Tech is hard. Scaling is hard.

What really impacts trust is silence.

The status page says everything is green while users clearly experience problems. That creates the impression — even if unintended — that internally everything looks fine.

A simple message would go a long way:

“We’re currently experiencing upload issues. The team is investigating.”

That’s it. Done.

Most people are perfectly capable of understanding delays — even over a weekend. Communication is what turns frustration into patience.
