    lifenewspersonal stuff

So what's been happening this summer that has drastically slowed any productivity on here?

MMA and Martial arts training, health and summer stuff:

I've been in and out of several gyms and dojos. I've been training a peer of him into full contact MMA. This weekend he had a lovely 3 day match set and I was very fortunate to be his care giver for that time. 6 months of coaching with him and I'm very proud of his results. As for myself, I still train in traditional karate and full-contact, but thankfully, no more fights for me. Getting a bit old for it and let's be frank: healing after fighting SUCKS. I'm not like Wolverine anymore. Now the heaviest stuff I do is gear-contact with full body gear [so we can still lay into each other].

In that I've been dealing with some health issues, namely arthritis. It's rheumatoid, and some even caused by trauma [mostly in my hands from decades of martial arts]. however this year I discovered the same issue in my jaws, so until I find a good medication to it, I'm always in some degree of pain, however no life changes have come of it yet.

I've been enjoying some vacation time as well. Doing lots of exercise and especially swimming in Lake Ontario [b/c THATS ITS FUCKING NAME], and getting a good deal of sunshine. I have a nice tan now and a feel better for it. I've been sleeping a lot as well. Having a good long sleep at least once a week is just heaven. I have my mountain of Eeveelutions plushies on the dresser smiling at me when I go to bed and wake up. It's adorable. lol I'm 43 years old!

Seeing family. I miss them and getting away from EVERYTHING for a while is good for the soul. I actually do very much enjoy spending time with family. I get to play and write music with my father, enjoy my mother's cuisine [as she only gets better with age], I spend time with my niece and nephew, sister and bro'er in-law. Family...too important.

I've also been trying to do some research for new material on here. an image set takes about 8 hours of visual research, which I mostly do in-person. I have a bunch of stuff I need to upload as source material, but I'm lazy.

Lastly,...it will come as no shock to anybody that I visit a counsellor. B/c, you know, bad brain stuff. And honestly I suggest everybody getting one, to help put things back into perspective. Without them I'd not be able to REALLY deal with my own problems. Professions. Highly recommended.
