Grembed — A Fix for CivitAI's Broken Embeds

Grembed — getting Civitai links to embed properly
I like embeds. Being able to share a link and have people actually see the artwork, who made it and what it’s called is useful, especially when you’re posting something in Discord.
It’s fucking annoying that Civitai’s have been broken for so long, so I decided to spend the better part of a waking day putting together something to make them work.
The result is Grembed, a small site that turns your Civitai links into links with previews. If you’ve used something like FixupX before, it’s a similar idea. Clicking the link still takes people to the original page on Civitai.
There’s no account to make or anything to install. You can just use it.
How it works
Head to grembed.dev, paste your Civitai link, press Make preview link, and copy the result into Discord or wherever you’re sharing it.
It currently supports images, videos, posts, models and articles from both civitai.com and civitai.red. Where the information is available, posts can include their name and a short description, while articles can show their cover and category.
I made it because I wanted a more convenient way to share things, and that’s how I want it to feel to use.
Where it’s at
It’s still rough around the edges, and I’ll keep tinkering with it when I have the time.
Posts are a bit finicky, particularly their names and descriptions. Sometimes the image will come through while the text doesn’t. Discord can also hold onto an older preview, and different apps have their own ways of displaying things.
Comics aren’t supported yet. I’d like to include their covers and genres, but I need a public way to retrieve that information from Civitai first.
Getting the basics working was honestly fairly straightforward. I’ve also put some time into organising and documenting the code, so it should be reasonably easy to expand without making future changes more difficult for myself.
Eventually, I’d like to make a proper Discord bot/app for Civitai as well, which people could add to their servers for automation. That’ll come after my current main projects, when I can give it some proper attention and spend a while tinkering.
For now, Grembed is available for anyone who wants to use it.
