Discovery 3.0 Is Here — And Now You Can Help Discover the Artists! 🎉

Well, this has been a long time coming!

After months of development, countless revisions, a whole lot of testing, and more than a few moments of wondering what I got myself into, Civitai Artist Discovery 3.0 is officially released!

What originally started as a tool I built to discover artists and artwork I might otherwise never come across has grown into something much bigger.

And with 3.0, I'm introducing the biggest addition yet.

Introducing Community

Until now, Discovery has primarily been about finding artwork through Civitai's existing content.

Community changes that.

Instead of relying entirely on automated discovery, we can now help each other find incredible artwork and artists who deserve more attention.

Here's how it works:

• Everyone is welcome. Sign in with your existing Civitai account. No invitations, separate registration, or API keys required.

• Recommend artwork. Every member can recommend up to three pieces of artwork per week.

• Discover what others are finding. Browse artwork recommended by fellow Discovery users.

• A constantly changing gallery. Recommendations stay featured for seven days.

• The same familiar experience. Community uses Discovery's existing gallery, including artwork details, filtering, and browsing features.

And yes, the original Daily Gallery is still here!

Why I Built This

One of my favorite things about Civitai is stumbling across an artist whose work makes me stop scrolling and think, "Holy crap, how have I never seen this before?"

Unfortunately, there's so much incredible artwork being created that a lot of it gets buried.

Discovery was my attempt to change that, at least a little.

But I eventually realized something: What if everyone could contribute to that discovery process?

That's what Community is all about.

It's not a popularity contest. It's another way to share artwork worth seeing and hopefully introduce people to artists they might never have discovered on their own.

What's New in 3.0?

Alongside Community, this release includes substantial improvements to application stability, security, authentication, and the Windows update process.

If you're already using Discovery 2.2.1 or one of the 3.0 betas, you can upgrade to the stable release while preserving your existing Discovery data and settings.

Download the Windows ZIP, extract it, and launch the application.

Throughout development, he's spent an incredible amount of time testing, providing feedback, reporting problems, and helping me figure out what worked and what didn't.

It's one thing to build something and think you've got everything figured out. It's another to have someone actually use it, push it, find the problems you missed, and give you the feedback needed to make it better.
