@Toya_00 After you make images and they're out of the queue, you'll see an icon that looks like a little sparkly wand when you hover them. Choose "High Res Fix".
Keep your CFG and Sampler the same.
You can lower steps. (I usually use Euler A 25 steps at ~6CFG, then I do my high res fix with only 10 steps)
Denoise at 0.50 is fine but you'll want to lower it if you already had perfect hands, but keep getting extra fingers or something.
Make sure when you're done, you scroll back to the top and click the little X on your preview portrait, so that all your future generations aren't just trying to high res fix your last gen.
Also put your steps back up. 10 is good for high res fix but its way too low for most new generations

@103497841 not a dumb question! Its when you plug your Ksampler into another Ksampler. It won't necessarily use Remacri that way as it is only one of many ways to do it.

It won't have a label that says "high res fix" but this is what "high res fix" is doing.

It's an upscaler. Not a Lora. Look at your A1111 dir. Find your ESERGAN directory. It will be in the same dir as your models. Rename the extension to a PTH file and give it a try.

@Robinsir I don't have a folder called ESERGAN but I do have one called realESERGAN. I put the file there and renamed it and still nothing :(

@MarinWaifu go for: "webui"-folder -> "models"-folder -> "ESRGAN"-folder, paste the remacri_original.pt file into this folder, rename the file to 4x_foolhardy_Remacri and change the file-ending from ".pt" to ".pth", then restart your Stable Diffusion. Now you should see the 4x_foolhard_Remacri upscaler in your Upscaler-dropdown-list. If you can not find the ESRGAN folder maybe your installation is corrupt, as far as i know it has to be there because it comes with the standard-installation. Please someone correct me if i am wrong.

@Stormwind It's not corrupt, idk why they didn't include this in the description but this is the fix:
Go to your models folder and just make a file called "ESRGAN" and then drop the file with the rename in there and bam you're done, it will load. Just reload your UI at the bottom of your interface and it will pop up in your hires.fix upscaler tab

@Mcbblgoonbuster there is no "A111"-dir unless you did create it during your install-process. Normally you will find your SD-installation in "sd.webui" or simple "webui" where you have unziped your sd.webui.zip

Yes it can, just rename the file as shown and then go to your models folder, upscale models and paste it there and then restart comfyui.

Over 35,000 downloads since Sept. 2023. I just downloaded it and I don't see a sell by date. It still smells ok.

Civitai put this on every file, that is not safetensor. Upscalers are not safetensor files.

This is an upscaler. in ComfyUI, there is a node 'ultimate SD upscale' that will connect to an upscale model (yet another node) - this thingy you would download, connect the two and wammo - you got... well two connected nodes, but the start of upscaling an image. this does nothing by itself.

I have a very basic upscaler workflow to show the bare-minimum Img to img upscaling, if you want.

Upscalers never use image generation prompts, they are standalone trained models.
It doesn't even have input for prompts.

@littlefluffyball I'm not sure what you're talking about, but that's not how the version of Remacri that's on this very website works. I use it to alter small details on previously generated images all the time.

The problem is that they wont let me choose upscaler like Remacri. They show upscale method like billinear, area, bicupic, lanczos and nearest exact. Remacri nowhere to be seen.

@zxxzxxz2323 as I wrote, I used 4x-UltraSharp and was very happy with it. Just like Remacri, it's a real AI upscaler..

The rest is just sth. similar like you find it in Photoshop.

@0_vortex If I remember correctly, you can even set for ComfyUI somewhere the folders paths yourself, so that you can use the same ressources for both tool flows and don't have to instantiate the same LORAs, upscalers, Checkpoints, etc. duplicates in different folders..

DanHan924 Hi-Res Fix also upscales (by a factor of 1.5; the CivitAI Generator doesn't let us choose differently), so it also uses this Upscaler. ;)

@FizzyGryph Upscaler "remacri_extrasmoother.safetensors" works and can be found under the "refine / upscale" section on the generate tab.

Haven't yet discovered how to upscale pre-generated images. With the extrasmoother.safetensors I found a control percentage of 0.3 and an upscale of 2 to be pretty good values.

Its a bit late but I noticed the same thing when you download it from Civit it comes out as remacri_original.safetensors but if you follow the wiki in the description and download it from there than its the 4x_foolhardy_Remacri.pth

@0_vortex I thought about it or even reForge, but it seemed annoying to install compared to Forge which i tried too but i didn't have all the things i wanted.

I don't know about for Comfy but i don't want to lose my bearings as well as my extensions.

Lol the people here telling people to use something besides A1111. We get it, you love ComfyUI, I do too, but some people just want to use what they know, if the question was, "Which one should I use, ComfyUI or A1111", then your replies would be valid, but no one asked.

That being said, as Risen_Samurai said, just rename file extension to .pth.

On site in generator on image you press "..." and chose "hi-res-fix" or "upscale" options - those 2 use this lora.

U got informations about where to put the file in "HOW TO INSTALL" (description). In comfyui u must use a "Load Upscale Model" node and in reForge it is in "Extra" . In both u just have to select the upscaler which must be in the correct folder. If u are using something else, it is also the same system.

@darkhollo2458 @cryphius I was just playing around with the civitai generator and if you use "Text-to-image Hi-res fix" or "Image-to-image Hi-res fix" in the Workflow settings, Remacri is used by default for that. You can set the denoising strength in the advanced settings tab at the bottom. Also if you want to upscale an image you just generated, you can choose "High-res fix" in the dropdown options of that image.

.pt, .pickletensors, and all their related files are not advised to be downloaded, due to using the python pickle() function, which can execute arbitrary code on your machine

Shockingly, i think its still just the best upscale model for "simple" images like anime/2d artworks. Dont ask me how thats possible at 5 years old, i have no clue lol. Ive tried quite a few others over the last 2 years, and just came back to it once again.

Most modern upscale models seem to be very focused on a specific thing, and/or are made mainly for photographs, so much higher resolution and detail then you would need for any 2d image. If used with those, they tend to try and add detail where there isnt or shouldnt be detail, sometimes resulting in artifact-looking anomalies. More resolution doesnt always mean better output, it always depends on for what its used. And for 2d images, this one seems to just be the go-to, simple-stupid solution that just kinda works.

Im not sure about unbeatable, but even with trying, i so far havent found a better one for these kind of images. At least not one that would be worth using 10x more resources on your PC, there are some gigantic upscale models out there that do that, like the NOMOS ones. But even those are not really worth it over this one, only really for photographs. Even similar ones or ones based on this one, imo often fail to achive the simplicity this one seems to offer. Another point is also, upscale models kinda dont need to do that much, so noone is really incentivised to try and make a better one, and even if someone makes one, you might be hard pressed to actually find any visual differences, at least up to 4k resolution, and going higher for 2d images like anime or otherwise drawn, just doesnt make any sense.

(Im literally just testing it again right now, thats why i wrote so much lol.)

@Bockiie Youre welcome, sometimes things like this just happen, i rarely comment here but i just visited this page again because i kinda asked myself the same question and tested again today, and then saw this comment from a few minutes ago at that point, so i thought why not. I would always recommend testing things yourself, but if you dont care that much, i think remacri original is just the easy overall solution that still works fine. And i actually came to like the extrasmoother version too for some very flat kind of image styles.
