Kate Beckinsale (b. 1973) is an English actress. She's well known for three things: (a) her work in action movies like Underworld, Van Helsing, and Total Recall; (b) her roles in British costume dramas like Much Ado About Nothing, Emma, and Cold Comfort Farm; and (c) having seemingly found a way not to age.

But this TI is trained on one particular moment in her filmography: 1998's The Last Days of Disco, a Whit Stillman film in which she and Chloe Sevigny play preppy Hampshire College grads in Manhattan circa 1980. They work low-level jobs in book publishing by day and haunt the city's declining disco scene by night. LDOD concluded Stillman's "doomed-bourgeois-in-love" trilogy (after Metropolitan and Barcelona); Beckinsale and Sevigny later reunited for Stillman's 2016 movie Love & Friendship.
