Pretty sure every other of the 5 vaes are all kl-f8-anime based. These all have the same impact.

put it in the VAE folder: stable-diffusion/models/VAE
Is the file supposed to be named klF8Anime2VAE_klF8Anime2VAE or should it be .VAE.ckpt? Because it doesn't read it
I think the file extension should be .vae.pt
For anyone confused, you need to first enable VAE within Stable Diffusion. Then you can select this VAE for it to work :)

Unless I am wrong, why is this catagorized as a "checkpoint merge"? Shouldn't it be under VAE?

the original people who developed it also made a .safetensor version which is a newer datatype made safe for conserns just as this. now no one uses ckpt we only use .safetensor for models and vaes
thanks to this VAE my images are not "greyed" anymore 😄
for safety reasons it is recommended to only use .safetensor files and NOT .vae.pt or .ckpt

kl-f8 was developed by the waifu diffusion team and this is their official hugging face after .saftensors came out they updated it

ComfyUI\models\vae_approx put it in. ComfyUI Efficient Loader you can open it with node.

Doesn't seem to work with the base ponyV6 model, anyone else have this problem?
This is a SD 1.5 VAE. It does not support SDXL checkpoints, such as Pony and Autism.
If you select this VAE when trying to generate a SD 1.5 image here on the site, the generation simply doesn't start. Something's broken. it's very sad
After all, this was the best VAE when there were problems with dull colors in the image.
