Disclaimer: I DID NOT MAKE THIS VAE
However, this is my favorite VAE and my go to. It brightens everything up and really breathes life into every model I've used it with. Best I can track down it comes from here. I simply wanted to put it on civitai so I can more easily recommend it for the models I have made. Enjoy!

Has anyone repackaged it into .safetensors?
Not to my knowledge. For what it's worth, I have a few different layers of malware protection so I have confidence there's no malicious code in here, but I can't guarantee that since I didn't make it
there is a v1 & v2 of the VAE on that hugging face page, which version is this one or are they the same?
I believe it's the v1 version. I actually downloaded this somewhere on civitai way back when, but I was unable to track it down, hence why I reposted it here
@Underpants_Gnome thanks, i think you should test the v2 of it to see if its better.
I just checked the hashes on the huggingface v1 (MoistMix.vae.pt) and v2 (MoistMixV2.vae.pt), they are the exact same file, no difference, and same as this page.
Seems to be good ol' pastel vae, compared by hashes
How do you analyze VAEs? I'm trying to compare v1 and v2 of this and I think they're the same, but I would like to be sure
@Underpants_Gnome I have pastel vae lying arond for nearly a year already, compared by hash (sha256) and file weight they seem to be identical
Also, you can just use free online image comparing tools on to analyze result impact
@Underpants_Gnome BTW, orangemix vae is actually a novelai vae AFAIK
I just checked the hashes on the huggingface v1 (MoistMix.vae.pt) and v2 (MoistMixV2.vae.pt), they are the exact same file, no difference, and same as this page. @Underpants_Gnome you can use a free program called quickhash-gui to compare files.
just a heads up, this is klF8Anime2VAE by @migatte2001388. i found it by searching the file hash on virustotal. i found this by doing some due diligence after going through all the trouble of converting this .pt to .safetensor by checking the file hash to make sure i wasn't stepping on anyone's toes by uploading a .safetensor version.
