TL;DR: This is a DMD2 LoRA = use CFG 1 and 8-12 steps (even if i personally prefer 16 steps, that's still half of what i usually use and i get my pictures in 30s instead of 80s).

    Quick clarification:

    • V1 is using turbo 0.1

    • V2 is using turbo 0.2

    • V1.5 is using a merge of 0.1 and 0.2

    • V3 is based on anima-turbo-v1.0

    • V2.9 is based on anima-turbo-v1.0 and turbo 0.2

    • All of them has been merged with the revised cosmos2.5 DMD2 LoRA

    • Yes, you can use CFG 1.2, 1.4, etc... you may need to add more steps then (that's why i do 16).

    V2.9

With more extensive tests and help from heavy user of the previous version, it was clear that V3 was killing LoRA when used. So, here is V2.9, a step back to previous turbo for the sake of a better compatibility with LoRA.

Recipe (merge done at Rank 128/64):

    • Cosmos2.5 DMD2 LoRA: 0.3

    • Extract Turbo V1.0 LoRA: 0.2

    • Turbo v0.2 LoRA: 0.4

Then, all this went through my compressor (MAXDIM 64, CUTOFF 98) to get this slightly heavier LoRA, but providing from my first tests better results. 🥰

    V3

With Anima-turbo-v1.0 officially out, i knew some people would ask about an update. So here it is! I switched my approach here as this is a full model we are talking about. First, i merged base and turbo at 50/50 to get "half-turbo" in which i merged the Cosmos2 LoRA at 0.5 to get "custom-turbo". V3 is a LoRA extraction of "custom-turbo" minus "base".

    V1.5

Borrowing a book from @kai and for the people not satisfied by 0.1 and 0.2 and wanted something in the middle, i did a merge of official 0.1 and 0.2 before doing the merge with the cosmos2.5 distilled LoRA. This end being a version between V1 and V2 = V1.5. This will probably be the last version except if a 0.3 version of the official LoRA comes out (and/or if a full distilled version of ANIMA base is released). NB: this version feels more sensitive to watermarks, you can use CFG 1.2-1.4 to be able to add a negative.

    V2

By popular demand, here is a V2 of this LoRA based on the V0.2 of the source turbo LoRA. 😘

    V1

This is my "personal" brand of the classic ANIMA Turbo LoRA, based on the DMD2 method.

There is already several "Turbo" LORA for ANIMA:

But interesting enough, someone had the idea to make and test a LoRA using the original Cosmos-Predict2.5 architecture: https://civarchive.com/models/2466415/cosmos-predict25-2b-base-distilled-extracted-dmd2-lora

The main process was: extract (using SVD) a LoRA out of "Distilled Cosmos" minus "Original Cosmos" and test it on ANIMA... and it works! (even if some keys are refused because they changed shape in ANIMA). Below is a comparaison of what those bring to the table (RDBT is very close to the base Turbo and so was excluded).

Now, what is did is "stupid" = Merge those two 😁 (i left RDBT alone as sharing merge is forbidden).

To do so, i re-keyed both LoRA and do a re-rank of the resulting merge (32/16 instead of 64/64+32/32). The ratio was 6/4.

This way, i get more details but with a less saturated result.

And it works perfectly with nArnima V2:

    Thanks for reading! 💖

Don't know what kind of magic you used, but this did improve my checkpoint quality over the other LORAs and now can properly show text more consistently.

First of all, thanks a lot for sharing this LoRA. :)

Here's the review (tested at 1.0 weight on 600+ images; refer to the images in my post for the other models used):

    - It fixed the pixelated/lowres backgrounds that come with some artist tags, as well as slop backgrounds that appear when using several LoRAs together.

    - Also, this LoRA preserves the styles from @ artist tag feature of Anima, which is pretty rare - at least from the LoRAs I've tried. Same thing with characters - I don't really use character LoRAs and just utilize tags. So some images of less known characters (low post count in Danbooru/Gelbooru) get reduced likeness when stacking LoRAs, but this LoRA doesn't have that issue.

    - Surprisingly, some artist tags that have a weak effect even at 2.0 weight got amplified, which is a huge bonus.

    - Lastly, v1.5 produces the best results on my end.

Again, thanks a lot for sharing this!!! :)

    @n_Arno You're welcome :)

    Some additional findings/review:
    - I've been testing upscaling and outpainting (including learning how to integrate em into my Anima workflow) for the past few hours, and discovered that this LoRA helps keep the upscaled images clean. (refer to my post for examples; idk how to put a description per image, so I put em in the prompt section)

(I only have one basis though, since I just skipped upscaling after failing to get a clean upscale several times before. I'm getting SD1.5 and SDXL flashbacks lmao - never managed to get a proper upscale back then. Plus my 1660Ti took ~68 minutes from base image > outpainting > three-pass upscale in USDU for a 4k image, so I'm only doing it for my favorites instead of testing it on everything. haha)

    - As for outpainting, tbh I never really tried it in Anima before, because I didn't really have a good experience with it way back in SD1.5/SDXL (or I'm just really bad at it lmao). So, I'm not really sure if it's Anima itself, the ControlNet, or this LoRA, but I bet this still helps in improving the results.

(Would've tested outpainting on several images with this LoRA active and inactive but, I'm too excited to try inpainting right now lol, since I bet that it'll also work much better than in SD1.5/SDXL)

Again, thanks a lot for this LoRA! And for the buzz too :)

I tried this lora when upscaling images with Anima via Ultimate SD Upscaler and the results are pretty incredible. Tiny, intricate details that were left soupy and blurry with no lora and the official turbo lora came out really clear with the 1.5 version of this lora enabled in the workflow.

what's the concrete difference between v2 and v1.5? Can i also use cfg 1.5 to use negative with V2?

    - V1 is using turbo 0.1

    - V2 is using turbo 0.2

    - V1.5 is using a merge of 0.1 and 0.2

Yes, you can use cfg between 1 and 2, no problem, you may need to add more steps though.

What i usually do is CFG 1.2 or 1.4 depending if i really need the negative prompt and 16 steps (example here: https://civitai.red/images/134721413)

In the official lora instructions, it is stated that if the effect is not satisfactory, the prompt "anime coloring" can be used to improve the effect. Does this also apply to this turbo lora? Thank you for your answer.

Most probably yes, since it is leveraging part of the official lora. the cosmos2 lora will probably not react so the effect will be less impactful, but it will have an effect nonetheless
