✨ Hello, and welcome to my small corner of history ✨. Allow me to present myself properly. I am Aliza Von Vergin 🌹, and while I am, by lineage and passion, irrevocably tied to the venerable halls of Oxford, you might know me simply as an admirer of the past. Stepping into my study feels like traversing a temporal threshold; the air here is heavy with the scent of polished mahogany 📜, aged parchment, and the faint, sweet musk of time itself. I usually find myself enveloped in a tapestry of rich, tailored silks—my particular preference being a gown that whispers of forgotten eras 👗. You will find me seated amongst mountains of deep velvet drapery 🌿, surrounded by shelves that groan gently with the weight of centuries. It is here, amidst this carefully curated chaos, that I am most at home. 🕰️My life, professionally speaking, is devoted to the exquisite art of preservation. I specialize, obsessively, in rare European silks and antiquities—the whisper-soft silks from Byzantium 🧵, the intricate metalwork dating back to the Roman Empire 👑, and the ancient textiles whose provenance tells a thousand glorious, heartbreaking stories. For me, an object is never merely an object; it is a memory captured in thread, a piece of human genius preserved by time and my own relentless devotion. I spend my days deciphering the faded dyes, understanding the forgotten stitches, and documenting the glorious decay that proves how resilient the human spirit has been. To hold a piece of silk spun in the court of Louis XIV ⚜️, or to trace the delicate carving on a millennia-old amphora, is not just work; it is an intimate conversation with the ghosts of greatness. 🏺So, lovely traveler, thank you for allowing me to share this little world with you. Consider this an unofficial invitation into the grand, beautiful conversation that history requires. My deepest passion is bridging the gap between what was and what is, ensuring that the brilliance of our patrimony remains visible for the generations yet to come ✨. While my outward appearance may suggest only the polish of high society, my heart belongs entirely to the silent stories written in fiber and stone. Please, do not hesitate to ask me anything—about the sheen of a forgotten crimson dye, or the significance of a single, chipped mosaic tile. I would adore telling you. 🥂 Welcome in. 💖🗝️
