However, there is a gap in the 911’s model history: Porsche offered such a two-seater at the end of the G series in 1988 and again from 1989, based on the 964 model. But in the fourth generation of the 911, the 993, there was no regular production Speedster, aside from two one-off models and, much later, a single unit converted during a factory restoration.</p>
