Chothush is a Splinterlands character. <a target="_blank" rel="ugc" href="https://splinterlands.com/">Splinterlands</a> is an NFT Trading Card Game based in the world of Praetoria.Lore:Swamp spitters hail from Skegmire, located on the Wraitholme River in the Fenmoor Basin of Praetoria's Shimmering Coasts. These terrapin tortisians are deadly killers and spend their lives learning the martial arts and use of the blowgun. As youths, they hone their skills while hunting in the basin and its Bog of Wails. Most swamp spitters remain in Skegmire their entire lives, but others journey beyond the reaches of the city's swamps, turning to mercenary work and offering their services as assassins to those that can afford them. They are deadly at what they do and take their trade very seriously. There isn't a target that has escaped the dart of a swamp spitter, and only a fool would refuse to pay the bounty they had agreed upon for a task well done.Chothush moved through the undergrowth without making a sound. Every step brought him closer to the walled garden of the ambassador from Khymeria. A small bird flew down from above and perched on a fern, chirping at him angrily. He ignored it and pressed on, his progress painfully slow but always moving forward, always moving closer to the target. The sound of a woman's laughter broke through the natural rhythm of the jungle, and a flock of yanker birds let up a warning call as they took flight, quickly joined in chorus by the screecher monkeys that clambered up nearby trees and howled their indignation. Chothush used the clamor to disguise his climb up the boundary wall, utilizing some of the vines that hung from the broken ridgeline. There was more shouting and laughter as he peered into the garden, where a fat, robed man chased two scantily clad young women around the manicured lawns and flower beds. Chothush marked his target straight away and prepped his blowgun, resting the long barrel on top of the wall and sliding a dart into the tube. A screecher monkey landed beside him and bared its long teeth, whooping angrily. One of the women looked over, and Chothush froze. The vines and angle of his wide brimmed hat must have provided suitable camouflage, because she soon lost interest and continued with her fanciful game of fleeing the fat ambassador. Chothush lifted the blowgun to his lips, took a deep breath, and exhaled forcibly. His aim was true. The dart shot through the air, pierced the ambassador's neck, and exploded out the far side in a crimson spray of gore. The fat man took four staggering steps before crashing into a shallow pool fed by a majestic fountain. As the women began to scream and cry for help, Chothush gently eased himself back down the tall wall and faded away into the jungle, leaving the inquisitive screecher monkey to watch the show.
