Working across magazines, advertising, and book covers, his style bridges the gap between the idealized Americana of Norman Rockwell and the stylized, graphic punch of 1970s Madison Avenue.

Signature: Warm, grounded color palettes (ochre, brick red, mustard, teal), strong diagonal compositions, highly expressive facial features, and meticulously detailed everyday environments (diners, drafting rooms, garages, mid-century offices).

The Manner: Every frame tells a story. The "decisive moment" is captured — a chef tasting soup, an architect leaning over blueprints, a mechanic wiping grease from his hands. Traditional hand-painted look with visible brushwork, gouache/acrylic textures, and confident ink line work for structural definition.

Tested Generation Settings (Krea2 / Flux Base)
ParameterValueLoRADOUG_SNEYD_krea2_3368296_epoch_20Base modelKrea2 (Flux architecture)Steps / Sampler / Guidance24 / Euler a or DPM++ 2M Karras / 3.5 (Flux prefers lower guidance for painterly styles)Resolution1024×1536 (vertical editorial) / 1536×1024 (wide cinematic spread)LoRA weight0.85–1.0 (at 1.0 the mid-century brushwork and tungsten lighting lock in perfectly)Positive-only disciplinemid-century American editorial illustration, warm earthy palette, narrative composition, expressive faces, detailed environments, adults 25+
Trigger Words
Core Triggers:
In the style of Doug Sneyd
,
Doug Sneyd style
,
mid-century American editorial illustration
,
1970s magazine illustration
Boosters:
narrative composition
,
warm earthy palette
,
expressive facial features
,
traditional gouache technique
,
detailed environment
,
tungsten practical lighting

Versions
V1 (Epoch 20) — The American Narrative Edition. 40 lines covering professionals, blue-collar workers, service industry, and everyday vignettes.
