MAURICE UTRILLO — MONTMARTRE WHITE PERIOD | LoRA (Krea2)
One weight slider — and the frame fills with the melancholic, thickly impastoed streets of early 20th-century Montmartre. No bright Post-Impressionist cheer: this is the White Period (1909–1914), where crumbling plaster facades, empty cobblestones, and quiet churches are rendered with a palette knife in muted creams, gray-blues, and soft ochres.
About the Artist & The Style

Maurice Utrillo is the painter of Montmartre's quiet corners, famous for his "White Period" where he rendered the peeling plaster of Parisian buildings with thick impasto and a profoundly melancholic mood.

Signature Concept: The poetry of empty streets. Utrillo's frames are almost always devoid of people, focusing instead on the architecture itself — churches, bistros, windmills, and the crumbling walls of the zone fortifications.

The Manner: Thick impasto applied with a palette knife, often worked directly from postcards and photographs (making him a proto-photorealist). The surfaces are heavily textured, scratched, and layered.

Palette & Light: Muted creams, off-whites, gray-blues, dusty ochres, and muted sage. Light is always overcast or twilight, giving the streets a timeless, suspended quality.

The Subjects: Sacré-Cœur, Moulin de la Galette, place du Tertre, village churches, empty cobblestone lanes, shuttered bistros, and the fortified outskirts of Paris.

Tested Generation Settings (Krea2)
ParameterValueLoRAMaurice_Utrillo_krea2_3384979_epoch_20Base modelKrea2Steps8 (Optimized for Krea2's distilled architecture — preserves impasto texture without over-blending)SamplerEuler ASchedulerBong TangentResolution1024×1536 (vertical narrow street) / 1536×1024 (panoramic Sacré-Cœur view)LoRA weight0.85–1.0 (at 1.0 the plaster texture and palette-knife drag lock in perfectly)Positive-only disciplineoil painting, Montmartre street, white period impasto, palette knife texture
Trigger Words
Core Triggers:
oil painting in the manner of Maurice Utrillo
,
Montmartre street scene
,
white period impasto
Boosters:
crumbling plaster facade
,
melancholic empty street
,
palette knife texture
,
gray-blue and cream palette
,
thick impasto brushwork

Versions
V1 (Epoch 20) — The White Period Edition. 40 lines covering Montmartre streets (1–8), churches (9–16), suburbs and zone (17–24), bistros and windmills (25–32), and seasons/moods (33–40).
Rights & Ethics

Unofficial style study capturing the early 20th-century School of Paris and Montmartre manner.

Historical-artistic context: the melancholic urban lyricism of pre-war Paris.
