Elizabeth Henstridge, born on September 11, 1987, in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, is a British actress and director best known for her role as Jemma Simmons in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. With her expressive performances and strong screen presence, she has earned a loyal fan base and acclaim in both television and film.
Henstridge began her career with roles in short films and television before landing her breakout part as Simmons, a biochemist and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013–2020). Her character evolved significantly over the course of the series, and her portrayal of both intelligence and emotional resilience became a cornerstone of the show's success.
Beyond acting, Henstridge made her directorial debut in the series’ seventh season, showcasing her expanding talent behind the camera. She has also appeared in other television projects, including the Apple TV+ series Suspicion (2022).
