good work 👍, but I think its proper to pay respects for the artist by at least mentioning them or their socials, its the least we can do.
Thats fair. I'll see what I can do when I'm at my PC.
why push the knife in the wound deeper?
@dilectiogames What do you mean?
Posse Possum clearly precises on his twitter account:
Unauthorized reproduction prohibited
AI learning prohibited
I doubt he'd be very pleased to know this LoRA exists. This being said, it's far from being the first LoRA trained on his art so...
@hansolocambo "Unauthorized reproduction prohibited" wait so you aren't even allowed to replicate his artstyle? I mean, hand-drawn. People copy other art styles all the time, thats how we've got Toyotaro working on Dragon Ball now.
@PopiAI no that means you can't print his stuff out and sell it, literal physical reproduction
Why "Engine"? The artist is called PossumMachine, not PossumEngine. Also dumb to name the Lora Koala instead of Possum, makes it harder to find.
But also this hardly even looks like PossumMachine. It's way too 3D-ish and detailed. It needs to be flat colors and not so washed out either, but maybe it being washed out is you not having a good VAE. I recommend getting the 84000 that everyone uses.
I'll give that vae a go.
As for the name, I figured it would be best to keep it legally distinct, just in case. I still put PossumMachine in the tags to make it easy to find.
The name is just another marsupial combined with another word for machine.
Kind of an odd thing to cringe at but okay...
Let me see if I understand this correctly... he made a LoRA, shared it with us, and named it whatever he wanted?
What a fuckin moron!
@2buckchuck That's like crediting an actor and always calling them the wrong name, or a song but attributing the wrong band. Give the artist actual proper credit instead, its his style, not by someone else. For those of us with literally tens of thousands of LoRas, it's also a management nightmare.
@Kaladae Well the Pony version is now listed under his actual name. As for the SD1.5, I'm not gonna retrain just to change the activation tag. I'll look into other ways of changing it, but I can't promise anything.
@PopiAI I noticed, and that's fine, I renamed everything myself, but it would just be a mindful consideration going forward. I never heard of this artist till I first encountered their style LoRa here - I like to make sure and keep record of the ones I like, and having good naming is a great start.
@Kaladae Back when I started making models, I wasn't sure how to handle things involving other people's styles. Quite a few others weren't mentioning the original artists at the time, so I figured going for a "legally distinct" name would be the best of both worlds. It was not.
I now just name them the most appropriate thing.
@PopiAI Learning is part of the process! I mean I've deleted a couple of different LoRas and never even got to the upload phase because they didn't turn out how I wanted. So you've already surpassed me.
The guy spends days making a dataset and training / testing LoRAs until he has a good one that he decides to kindly share with the world. And you're upset because he decided to name his work ?
Damn dude. Train your own f... LoRA then.
@hansolocambo Nah man, its all good.
