1. the file was modified without same license attached to it
2. no credit was given to the original author
so if you re upload the .pth instead of pt and credit kim as the original author with link to the official wiki i don't think she would mind :D

Umm, you don't have to upscale 4x with this. You can just do 2x. I'm usually using 512 by 768 and upscale 2.5x

@unstablestDiffuser Yes, but it can add distortion. If you scale something up and down a few times it will turn into mashed potatoes. My 22MB jpegs look great though lol!

Question about the License:
it says we can't use the Licensed Material and Licensed Elements for commercial purposes. Does this mean we can't use the pics we create and then upscale with this upscaler for commercial purposes? Or does it mean we can't use the Upscaler itself for commercial purposes (like selling the Upscaler data online for profit)?
If anyone could give me clarification on it, i'd be very thankful.
Any commercial use of my templates, without my express consent, is prohibited. I evaluate request by request. I'll give you a practical example. I granted free commercial use to a startup (two guys) that is designing a video game (without any funding or manufacturer behind it). Or to a guy who wanted to produce prints for his etsy shop. While for for-profit use (such as a site that generates images for a fee) I have requested small monthly support via my Ko-fi page. So, write to me at samuele[dot]bonzio[at]gmail[dot]com explaining the use you would make of my model, you'll see that we will find a solution. :)

@SodiumD right like wtf. anyways i made an upscale_model folder and still issues. let me reload and see if anything changes
Anyone still having issues (install missing nodes), then you have to make the folder upscale_models , then download the upscale model, THEN remember to re select the correct one in the " load upscale model" node. this was my issue my file was not the same name as OP slightly different even though same model. so just reselect and should be good.
I ran into a problem with trying to use this upscaler:

So this means the upscaler is demanding to be run in such a state that it can run anything on your computer. Kim2091 is the original author of this model and you can find this model here: https://huggingface.co/Kim2091/UltraSharp/tree/main
I have taken SHA256s of the two files:
Samael1976:

Kim2091:
sha256-weKbF1v8Yi1+8r/eagg6FWJ5QFdFmmTLXZlJFQdFiIU=
They are different, which means this model is not the exact same copy of Kim2091's. This could just be an older version of Kim's, or it could be something fishy is going on. I try to keep an open mind and so I went to verify.
Samael's copy is about 10 months old at time of writing (2024-04-05) but Kim's most recent version is 3 months old. Perhaps it just needs an update. Unfortunately I cannot see history in the git repository that goes back that far to verify. If updated, I do expect those SHAs should match.
Using the latest version did not work around the issue I had above, so maybe it's okay but it's still hard to do full audits on these things. I have not done a full audit here.
Hi, I got some errors me to with A1111 version 1.7.0. I installed a new fresh install 1.8.0 and the error disappeared.

PTH works fine, upscale and hires.fix works fine.

Oh, right. You clearly mentioned it at "how to install". Totally my bad. Sorry about that.
Besides "extra tab", It also works in "image generation hires.fix" and does much better work than "latent" upscaler. It's like an alternative of "R-ESRGAN 4X+" upscaler to me. It's a great tool. Only concerning issue is that people don't recommend to use it in image generation due to copyright license issues (even for printing a t-shirt for yourself, you have to give credit)

Also, how is this your model if on the version you state its not your model, but on the description you say:
