I know people rag on this movie but I feel it has just the right amount of tone and camp for a 1984 movie. Every other attempt has been a 2-parter (SyFy, Dune 2024). This is before the rise of weapons-grade CGI in everything and to accomplish this 6 years after O.G. Star Wars (and with Sting, no less) is pretty cool. Also the soundtrack was pretty great, kind of like a diet flash gordon. Francesca Annis just dominates with the elegant mature vibe in this outfit.
