Is it looking like Zimage is the next Ill/Pony? so far I can't quite tell through quality alone.
I'm testing to see. It seems good so far. It easily learns small details on the images in the dataset.
I dont really like captions so I'm starting to experiment more with using tags to see if those work well.
I could be wrong but it looks like it doesnt know booru tags. For example it wasnt able to make Misty on ZImage but Pony and IL can make Misty without a lora. If this is the new standard then the community will need to build a lot of loras.
It feels more like halfway between Illustrious and Flux for me, it uses full text captioning but has a lot less goofy censorship than flux. the text encoder for Zimage is incredible though. I dislike captioning in general vs tags but with it being so good at parsing the captions I'll put up with the extra work. I'm hoping the non turbo release of zimage is even better.
@extrememittens Yes it does feel like the best of Illustrious and Flux.
Cost example:
SDXL/IL might cost 12 buzz for 2 images
Z-Image would cost 18 buzz for 2
but Flux is like 65 buzz for 2 images lol.
Its not as great at realism as flux but it seems uncensored and is way cheaper so thats a huge win.
ALSO its Apache Licence so that makes it better than Illustrious because you can actually use Z-image for anything you want for free. I'm not a lawyer dont quote me on that lol.
