Many seek the flame nymph known as Iidri, yet few find her. Those who do receive wisdom and guidance, passion and pleasure, an agony of flames and scars, or some combination of each.

As is typical of nymphs, it's pretty much a roll of the dice.

Deep within the mountain, a young, teary-eyed flame nymph burst into Iidri's abode. “My lady, we are under attack!”

Iidri leapt to her feet. “Who dares?”

“They wear robes and armor of black, gold, and silver and carry banners with the symbol of the infinite!”

The Chaos Legion. Iidri recognized the description from tales she'd been told by recent visitors.

She brushed past the young nymph and hurried up the sloping tunnel. As she approached the surface, she heard sounds of battle. She stepped from the cavern and squinted against the harsh glare of the sun.

Up and down the mountainside, the earthen homes of the flame nymphs lay in ruin. The Chaos Legion attacked with steel and magic while the nymphs defended what was left of their small settlement.

She swelled with anger, and in a fury of fire and ash, a great inferno exploded all around her. Legionnaires within a hundred feet were incinerated, with nothing left of them but smoking boots and bits of charred flesh. The rest fled for cover.
