Do they have to be such a DARK grey though? Not very 'impartial' in that sense...
In much of the training set, they were usually shaded out to match the background to draw the viewer's vision by contrast towards the solo focus of the girl. There isn't really a good tag for this on either Pixiv or the boorus. I'll see what I can do for the next version and maybe make it a bit more versatile in this regard, too.
