Disneyland Part I: Main Street USA, Entrance, Main Street Station, and Magic Castle

Ok! So I finally began collecting data for my huge Disneyland recreation project. Working on this brought back tons of memories of visiting the park as a child. Not just Disneyland USA in Anaheim but also Euro Disney in France and Tokyo Disneyland. This is part 1 of who knows how many, where I will attempt to recreate the entire park in Stable Diffusion. This is a complicated LoRA, so please read to get the most out of this. If your desire is to just reproduce the aesthetic of Main Street USA, or a depiction of a small town Main Street somewhere in the US, you do not need to include any tags. Otherwise, please read on!

Why?

When I first started to generate pictures in WebUI and Fooocus, I noticed there was a lack of background environments for amusement parks. Even so, the pictures that outputted were very incorrect in their interpretations of American style amusement parks. There is also a need for fairs and carnivals which I will cover on a future LoRA.

How?

Consistent photos for Disneyland are rough (poor quality) and hard to find (note: they're easy to find but mostly full of people obscuring much of the aesthetic of Disneyland). The park often goes through tons of changes throughout the season where some attractions are unavailable at certain times. Some photos are from previous eras where rides did not exist. I recreated as many photos as I could find, so whilst this LoRA doesn't get everything right, it tries to match the aesthetic as close as possible to the real Disneyland, in turn also mimicking Euro Disney and Tokyo Disney.

Tag explanation:

Again, this is a monumental project and as such will be divided in parts. In this LoRA there are key tags that are necessary to implement certain elements of Main Street USA at Disneyland.

Keyword: "Magic Castle" Anytime you include this tag, Cinderella's castle will show in the background, even when used indoors. "Magic Castle" is another word to describe Cinderella's castle plus it's easier to spell. See example:

Keyword: "Train Station," "Tower"

An Important part of the park is Main Street USA's train station that you see after entering the park entrance. It is convenient if you want to skip Main Street and take the train to other parts of the park. Using "Tower" in concert with "Train Station" will produce the iconic Main Street USA Train Station. Sometimes when using just "Train Station" you will get a generic train station with an actual train. You may have to enter train in negatives to avoid this.

Keyword: "Main Street," "Bakery," "Theater," "Outdoors"

I have included key points of interest in this LoRA which include the Bakery and Theater. The Theater is less consistent but the Bakery appears to work each time. Adding "Outdoors" will produce an outside aesthetic as opposed to indoors. See sample/example pictures for prompts.

Keyword: "Indoors," "shop," "Candy store" "toy shop"

This LoRA also attempts to reproduce the indoor aesthetic of the shops and markets at Main Street USA. I have included the candy store and toy shop that is popular with visitors of the park. You should indicate "indoors" and "shop" as opposed to "outdoors." See sample/example pictures for prompts.

Notes:

This is part of a larger series which attempts to recreate the entire park in Stable Diffusion. The next target will be "Adventureland" which includes the Jungle Cruise, Bazaar shops and Indiana Jones in a jungle aesthetic. Again, while this LoRA is a bit complicated, it's rewarding especially for fans of Disneyland. I will try to improve on this LoRA should it be necessary and probably needs extra information to complete.

Complications:

i) Whilst the iconic statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse was included in this dataset as it stands in front of the Magic castle (tags: walt disney statue, mickey mouse statue), it doesn't seem to generate as easily as others. I will try to improve this on a later generation. You are welcome to try to generate it.

ii) I included data tags for the striped shirt barbershop quartet singers, but again, these don't seem to generate well despite the attempts to recreate them. I may need to focus on an exact LoRA for these guys or eliminate them altogether. They are somewhat key to the Main Street USA experience however and I would like to improve on this eventually and include them.

iii) Additional tags include: City Hall, Entrance, Tunnel. These tags help to illustrate the Main Street USA experience. Also "night" and "day" will unlock extra moods and fun easter eggs. However I will admit they are not always consistent and you might need to add tags to bring them out.

iv) Hall of Presidents: I was unable to find enough sets of pictures to complete this major attraction at Main Street USA (though the videos on YouTube are nice...I just hate to have to screen shot every thing and re-output those to Stable Diffusion). Furthermore, every time I've tried to attend this attraction IRL, it was always closed or out of season (it's currently closed right now and won't open until late 2025 at Disney World!). I may include this in a future LoRA but for now it's shelved. Apologies for those who cherish this "ride."

v) Parades/Events: I'll have to focus on this on another LoRA. Iconic events like the Main Street Electrical Parade and others were too difficult to add onto this LoRA. For example, I love the winter "snow" event where during Christmas, the park makes it "snow" (Anaheim, CA where I grew up never snows!). But I didn't feel it was necessary to include these to make up for the aesthetic of Main Street USA.

Conclusion:

I had a lot of fun making this LoRA as well as heart ache. The hardest part was recreating the map include at the beginning of this description. I recreated it from scratch and hope to improve on it. Cheers and have fun!
