Aisha Tyler is an American actress, comedian, director, author, and activist, renowned for her versatility across various entertainment mediums. Born on September 18, 1970, in San Francisco, California, she developed an early interest in comedy and performance. Tyler graduated from Dartmouth College in 1992 and initially worked in advertising before pursuing a career in stand-up comedy.

Tyler's breakthrough in television came as the host of E! Entertainment's "Talk Soup" in 2001, where she was the first woman and African American to lead the show. She gained further recognition with a recurring role as Dr. Charlie Wheeler on the sitcom "Friends," becoming the first Black actor to have a recurring role on the series. Her television career expanded with roles such as Andrea Marino in "Ghost Whisperer," Dr. Tara Lewis in "Criminal Minds," and voicing Lana Kane in the animated series "Archer."
