    Bio:

    Ivet Lalova-Collio is a Bulgarian sprinter and one of the most successful female athletes in Bulgarian history. Born on May 18, 1984, in Sofia, Bulgaria, she is best known for her achievements in the 100m and 200m sprint events.

    Career Highlights:

    • In 2004, at the European Athletics Championships in Plovdiv, she ran the 100m in 10.77 seconds, making her the fastest white woman in history at the time.

    • That same year, she competed in the Athens 2004 Olympics, reaching the 100m final and finishing 4th place.

    • In 2005, she suffered a severe injury, breaking her femur during a warm-up accident. After nearly two years of recovery, she made an incredible comeback.

    • She became the 2012 European Champion in the 100m and has been a consistent finalist in multiple World Championships and Olympic Games (Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020).

    • Lalova has also won numerous Balkan and national championships, proving her dominance in sprinting for over two decades.

    Personal Life & Legacy:

    • She is married to Simone Collio, an Italian sprinter.

    • Outside of athletics, she is a motivational speaker and runs the Ivet Lalova Sprint Academy, where she helps young athletes develop their potential.
