This LoRA is Studio Ghibli meets dark fairytales.
Watercolor backgrounds and cel-shaded characters, ethereal lighting, fantastical natural environments, whimsical yet haunting.
It was inspired by the timeless work of Hayao Miyazaki, Brian Froud, and Kay Nielsen.
MidJourney V7:
Used the best images from V1 + My personal MJ7 style to create the new dataset from scratch.
The Aesthetic is preserved, and the versatility is greatly increased, but the colors are a little bit different as the Watercolor effects are more visible.

awesome 😍 rly cool Idea. Looks great
Thank you :)
I really love how it turned out!
Can't wait to see what you will do with it - I really enjoy all your work!
I love it! Thank you!
I am trying to work with this lora and it is impossible to get the style out of the test images. It is possible that the version that is available for download does not correspond to the Lora that was used for these test images.
All 5 where trained here on CIvit, I downloaded and tested them and then released from the local civit source. Which one do you have issues with?
@ArsMachina The new one: Dark Ghibli flux.
@Moonshake I just tried it out with the on-site generator . It seems fine.
@ArsMachina its perfect ;D
Awesome !
Awesome style!
Miyazaki probably hates this lol
There's no "probably". He does. He thinks any ai art in "his" style is disgusting. It's only because it does it better than him.
@ZUSIMO also, if we start copyrighting styles, then that's a problem for free speech.
@Taco360 exactly. Just like you cannot copyright a chord of music. Maybe a chorn progression but not a single chord. That Single chord is a "style". It cannot be touched. Public domain. If they don't want others to produce fan made art and give them free advertising, they should remove their publications. lol
@ZUSIMO great thinking. now, no one can ever make money off their art by having a personal style, since as soon as it gets noticed, everyone will make art just like it with their prompts. artists should all die broke and alone. screw artists, take art! yay for progress!
@Star_Knight yes, all those nasty copyrights so people can;t make money off others' skills and hard work. all the artists who got noticed and made a living? THEY DIDN'T DESERVE IT! they should have starved and given all their art to the public so they can tell a computer to do nudie pics in their STYLE! something something FREE SPEECH! yargggh!
*no one on this site has any idea what the 1st amendment means
@Narz you can't copyright a style in the first place, never have been able to, so all your moaning and complaining is completely irrelevant
@Narz There was this rather famous Italian 'everyman'- skilled in sculpture, painting, engineering etc- you may just have heard of him. Well as a young man he began his career copying the work of earlier artists- because that is how you train a first quality Human artist. Hmmm- yet when an AI model learns in exactly the same way, and I mean EXACTLY the same way, fools cry like babies!
It doesn't look like Ghibli, other than the Totoro. No disrespect to the creator of this model, it seems nice, but I don't see any resemblance to Ghibli, so I'm not sure he'd hate it for the reason you think.
@IrakTheOracle It was never supposed to mimic Ghibli Style. It always have been a mix of styles and "inspired by" like I have written in the description, so no offense is taken ;)
For some base models the Ghibly inspiration is much much stronger, for others it is Brian Froud and/or Kay Nielsen. This is why I really love testing and retraining with this dataset - it showcases what the base model can and will learn.
Awesome!
