Alison La Placa is an American actress known for her work in television, particularly in sitcoms during the 1980s and 1990s. She was born on December 16, 1959, in New Jersey.

She gained recognition for her role as Linda Phillips on Duet (1987–1989) and its spin-off Open House (1989–1990), where she played a sharp, career-driven real estate executive. La Placa also made memorable guest appearances on popular shows such as Friends (as Joanna, Rachel's boss at Bloomingdale’s), Cheers, The John Larroquette Show, and Mad About You.
