Buster Keaton (1895–1966) was an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker, best known for his silent films in the 1920s. He was famous for his physical comedy, elaborate stunts, and his trademark deadpan expression, which earned him the nickname “The Great Stone Face.” Keaton directed and starred in classics like The General (1926) and Sherlock Jr. (1924). His work had a major influence on comedy and cinema, and he is now regarded as one of the greatest silent film stars of all time.
