    Image Upscaler Model: 8x_NMKD-Faces_160000_G

    Put it into models/ESRGAN

I'm creating Dreambooths, LyCORIS, and LORAs. Here is my base model Serenity: https://civarchive.com/models/110426

I upload 2-3 times a week, however, I write down suggestions all the time. If you want to see someone made into a model just leave a comment :)

Suggestions left on my donation page ( https://www.buymeacoffee.com/malcolmrey ) are taken with the highest priority and you will be able to enjoy them way before they get released here. (I also accept custom requests)

The reason is that I can't keep up with uploading and the models are being made pretty much all the time :-)

As mentioned, via the donation page I accept custom requests, so feel free to engage with me there, I will answer all your questions :)

This is the Upscaler ESRGAN model that I use for hi.res.fix.

Some people asked me to upload it and since it is now much harder to find - I figured - why not?

You can still grab it from:

    https://openmodeldb.info/models/4x-NMKD-Superscale

Click on "NKMD Superscale" and then look for "NMKD Faces".

I had to rename it from .pth to .pt (otherwise I would not be able to upload it) but A1111 reads both extensions just fine.

Some time ago I went through most of the available upscalers that were suggested by many (foolhardy Remacri, ultrasharp, FuzzyBox, Nickelback, RealisticRescaler, and so on) and while most of them were really good, the NMKD just has this special "it" that makes the output just a tad bit better!

Neither that or this is "his", this model was trained by someone else (N00MKrad) in 2021. ESRGAN has nothing inherently to do with Stable Diffusion at all, and predates Stable Diffusion by quit a long time.

@operator97570 who is the "his" in your sentence?

i never claimed that this is my model (i even provided info where this model comes from and so on)

and nobody is claiming here that they were created for stable diffusion

are you the one who made the thread about upscalers on civitai's reddit? :)

It's a great upscaler! Any tips of the best settings for keeping best recognisability on face? Also I've found that this upscaler can desaturate image, is that normal?

Yeah, it does change the image colorwise a bit, but I kinda like it :)

The best settings will depend on how far the face is. If the face takes most of the image then I go for 0.2-0.3

Mid-range is around 0.3-0.5 and far away shots are about 0.6-0.7 (I tend to not go over that value as it changes the whole image too much)

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am new to this. Is this compatible with SDLX or SDLX Turbo?

this is used for upscaling outside of latent space, so yes :)
