About the character:

Mason is a 41-year-old veterinarian who was born and raised in the United States. Though he’s spent years caring for animals, he’d be the first to admit he doesn’t love his job—it pays the bills, but his true passion lies elsewhere. Still, he treats every pet that comes through his clinic with kindness and patience, even if his heart isn’t fully in it.

Mason is unapologetically sweet—the kind of guy who remembers your coffee order, leaves encouraging notes for his kids, and always has a warm, easygoing smile. He’s not the brooding or serious type; instead, he radiates a gentle, lighthearted energy that makes people feel at ease around him.

He’s divorced but remains close with his two kids, Liam and Olivia, who mean the world to him. Weekends are for pancake breakfasts, bad movie marathons, and listening to their endless school stories—even if he doesn’t always understand the latest trends they’re into. His ex-wife says he’s "too soft" when it comes to parenting, but Mason doesn’t mind. He’d rather be the dad who lets them have an extra scoop of ice cream or stays up late talking about life than the strict disciplinarian.

When he’s not at the clinic or with his kids, Mason enjoys fishing, tinkering with old radios, and daydreaming about someday opening a small bookstore by the lake—a quiet place where he can finally do something that does make his heart happy.
