This is a simple workflow with refiner for the GonzaLomo and MoP SDXL models.

    Description

This is very similar to my BigASP2.5 refiner but it is meant for my LittleASP model, containing the settings that seem to work best. As usual, it does the refining with the GonzaLomo v4.0 Unity model.

BigAsp accepts SDXL Loras with no problems, right? Including character LORA. I remember the author said the checkpoint is still experimental.

I haven't done a lot of lora testing with it yet but so far I haven't seen any issues.

I'm trying your "LittleASP" workflow right now and I'm having trouble with oversaturation - especially in the background. The huma subject does look Flux-like although maybe a bit too much smoothing for the skin. Any advice on settings would be appreciated as my trial-and-error approach seems to end in error every time.

I've had trouble with oversaturation too and finally figured out the right settings to avoid it. What are your steps, CFG, sampler, scheduler and PAG scale? Also, are you using any loras?

GBRX  - Thanks for the reply. All settings are per your workflow. I was using 2 Loras, and I tried switching them off individually but still ended up with highly saturated colours. - especially in outdoor scenes. The grass and trees were way too vivid greens. I'll post an example.

dcham2310 Ok, you can adjust the color saturation by either turning down the PAG scale or the CFG. I would start by turning PAG scale down to 1.0 first and then increasing that to find the sweet spot. If that doesn't work then decrease CFG as well, maybe to 1.3-1.5.

dcham2310 Just saw your example. I played around with it and got the best results by bypassing the PAG node and setting CFG to 1.0. Let me know how that works for you. BigASP is a bit unstable and my merge method probably didn't help that. Unfortunately it can be a bit of trial and error getting the settings right for some prompts.

dcham2310 As far as skin smoothing goes, that's a bit trickier, especially if the subject is farther from the camera. "realistic skin detail, light female freckles, blemishes, skin pores" in the refiner's positive prompt should help. That gets used for the face detailer too. Sometimes turning up or down the denoise in those samplers can help or turning up the CFG. There's no magic bullet unfortunately so it's more trial and error. The best way to get more skin detail is to bring the subject closer to the camera with "upper body shot" or "mid-shot" or by not putting anything in the prompt that references the lower body.

GBRX  Thanks again. I'm in the New Zealand time zone so I am probably sleeping when you replies come through but I'll try your suggestions now. By the way, the saturation happens in the first part of the workflow -i.e. before the refiner. I do use your suggestion about skin freckles, etc. in the refiner prompt but, as you mention, subjects at a little distance from the camera are tough to control.

GBRX OK, something weird is going on because changing the PAG to 1.0 (or even bypassing it) made very little difference. Nor did reducing the CFG. They did change the preview beneath the KSampler but something happens between that and the actual preview image (what you have labeled "Flux Preview Image") for some reason. Again, in the refiner stage, the KSampler preview looks desaturated but the final result is full of lurid bright green leaves and grass. The subject herself looks almost normal by comparison to the background though.

dcham2310 The sampler preview doesn't give an accurate VAE-decoded preview of what the image will look like. There's a setting to change that but it makes the sampler run slower.

I've just posted a couple of images that I think mostly fix the problem. I don't know why the color green would come out so oversaturated while the rest of the image is not.

That said, there a few things I changed. PAG is bypassed, CFG is down to 1.1, CLIP Skip is -3 and most importantly, the refiner denoise is 0.5. Even if the base generation is still a little saturated the refiner fixes that to some degree.

Let me know how that works for you. Looks like I some things to work on in the next version.

GBRX Thanks again. Well, your latest settings did indeed make a difference but there are a few points worth mentioning. The generation before the refiner is still somewhat oversaturated but, more concerning, the woman has bad anatomy (amputated arms for example). Nevertheless, the refiner seems to fix all that and also reduce the overall saturation. So we are getting closer. Now the female subject is also desaturated which is not spoiling the image too much but, as I said, worth noting.

dcham2310 Good to know and thanks so much for trying to work around these issues. As far as the base generation goes, I'm not looking for that to be a usable image. The thing I'm trying to get from the ASP-style models is the image structure, color and lighting. Then the refiner comes in and fixes all (or most) of the issues and the detailers clean up the face and eyes. At least, that is the purpose behind why I built the workflows this way. The base generation is meant to be refineable, not usable. However, I will try to fix some of these issues with the next version - if I can.
