I like it when ideas like this surface.
It's like someone's been reading my mind...
Thanks! I showed this to a friend and apparently they also had this idea. Its fun when lots of people are operating on the same wavelength and finally realize it!
That or maybe I can really read minds 🔮 lol
Off topic: you have an excellent collection of loras. They are very interesting.
My favorites are https://civitai.com/models/830313/fictional-headwear-dbz-rebreather and https://civitai.com/models/1293687/simple-space-helmet-type-2-dome-helmet
Something about the "oxygen tanks" (?) on the side of the mask feels like a good mix of future tech and clunky. So its advanced technology but not perfect. Its more practical than pretty.
And then the Dome Helmet is perfect advanced technology where its pretty, elegant, and just works.
@CitronLegacy I like erring on the side of visual first, mechanics later myself ;P. It's not that I hate practicality or anything, I just aim for a middle ground of "this is the purpose of this gear" and "it's an exotic/abstract visual but the pretty lady is also part of the idea!" or something on those lines. It works for me, so I'm not changing it (lol)
In the case of those two, it's just bringing a concept I like that gets limited attention to the forefront (the rebreathers and Goku's scuba gear from the original Dragon Ball question) as a lot of the work was taking screencaptures at the best possible quality, making some crops and/or edits to isolate the headwear and trying to recontextualize it in a way where it's not just limited to the wearers or their designs.
Dome helmet has a few other examples but mainly it leans on the screencaps from Hisone to Masotan/Dragon Pilot, thankfully not to a point of overfitting but still something to work on should there be future revisions -- and no matter how much I like the results, refinement is always on my mind. I think when I start noticing the seams or limits, I either try to experiment with prompts to see if anything can be done to salvage it or I start planning how to retrain things so there's less mess.
It's possible I might adapt other equipment from cartoons/anime/videogames that didn't get much spotlight or has a small niche following I might train later if I like it enough. Or like I said, if I find anything could use a finetune, I'll take another crack at it. Plus if people mix concepts, I'm glad to have contributed. I just like putting stuff out into the aether.
