Just every time when it comes to the manga, I have something urge to express.
Personal view, since ( ) don't have an image in the original game, ( )'s personal image is still in the catbox.
I saw many fans recognized the manga as some kind of Bible, as the only answer, that limited imagination and lowered the value of the story.
I do LOVE the manga too, but it is the manga author’s understanding of the original story, and 07 admitted that the interpretation of the manga is logical, "A" feasible possible interpretation, which can be used as a reference, not the only truth.
Hope every fan of Umineko found their own answer, it is worth to read the original story before you read the manga to avoid some preconceived character impressions.
It is worth noting that what Ryukishi said is actually that it is the official answer from him. To the point that he warns people to not read the manga if they are not ready to completely open the catbox, implying... you know, that that is the official answer. It is the one that makes most sense, what Ryukishi has intended when writing the story.
Nothing wrong with having alternative headcanons and fun theorizing tho! And Ryukishi is very open with fans having different ideas. But, there's a reason so many of us consider the manga to be so canon.
@Tharizdun03 Indeed, it is the official answer, makes most sense, which helps a lot when I try to recommend Umineko to my friends. 😔I just feel sad when someone give up their own rights to think freely, since Umineko has the perfect story framework to release readers‘ imagination while does no harm to the central idea.
