in the end of the day,
it depends on your objective, your goal

if you are using only a single style, and want just that one, pure, style and nothing else
then yes, it can be!

if you, however, are playing around with several - different - styles, and not just one or two,
then, limited disk space simply will start to become a problem at some point,

also the fact, that the smaller ones can get mix-mash'ed a lot easier, to nudge it towards you're own preferences, is something you realy shouldn't underestimate,

so i DO prefer a realy good and balanced base with a lot of small files over hundreds of gigantic checkpoints, but both approaches can have their place!

@asdfgyxcv ofc having way much gigantic size with low quality, is not preferred, me also not liking such low effort stuffs

I do prefer small size, optimized for vram thing, and it makes sense many ppl also prefer so, but it is not really the only rule to be.
