Jasmin Moghbeli is a NASA astronaut, U.S. Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, and aerospace engineer known for her operational leadership and technical precision. Born in Germany and raised in New York, she earned her undergraduate degree from MIT and a master’s in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. As a naval aviator, she flew over 150 combat missions in the AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter and later graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School. Selected by NASA in 2017, Moghbeli launched to the International Space Station in August 2023 as commander of the SpaceX Crew-7 mission, contributing to long-duration research aboard Expedition 69/70. Her career blends combat aviation, systems testing, and human spaceflight at the highest level of excellence.
