This model is meant to reproduce the art style of portraits used by units in the classic 2002 turn-based strategy game Disciples 2.
The general vibes we're talking about are: painterly, dark fantasy, early modern/medieval High Gothic look, somewhat gritty textures, a sprinkle of awkwardly plastic Y2K-era CGI, dynamic angles.
Usage:
Recommended model:
Quillworks 2's - brushwork-heavy models seem like a natural fit with the original style
Recommended sampler:
Euler A
Recommended scheduler:
Laplace - can push Mu value down to -0.5 for a more ethereal/unfinished look, 0.0 works fine.
30-50 steps recommended.
CFG 4.5 works for me.
Prompting:
The activation word ("d2style") is optional, does not seem to make a difference.
"painting" or "oil painting" optional but highly recommended (at least in Quillworks) - but yield very different styles. The former seems closer to OG style, the latter is more vibrant.
Strongly biased towards portraits, even if you don't specify otherwise - e.g. 'cathedral' generates a priestess-type lady.
Speaking of bias - the training dataset had decorative borders/frames around the portraits; as a result, the model likes to add them too.
Description
Initial release. Trained on 136 PNG portraits ripped from the game and Nearest-upscaled to 652x1024 but works with other resolutions. Quite happy with the results!
