If you want to make detailed hybrid creatures, OR create any works with an aged cracked painting quality, this is the model for you!
While at high strengths you can achieve exact creatures from the famous painting, at lower strengths you can blend all sorts of other styles and subject matter into your art. There are other models of Bosch, but none (I believe) are as focused on the non-human creatures from The Garden of Earthly Delights, and I have not achieved as detailed "cracked paint texture" in those models as I have with this model. Also, since the painting and imagery is already famous, and is a part of the base SDXL model, you don't need my model to create creepy, strange, or hybrid creatures -- but if you actually want to situate your SD images into a conversation with Bosch, the medium of painting, or the themes of time, decay, and impermanence, then this LoRA is a MUST.
This model was trained on 60 images from the Heaven and Purgatory panels from Hieronymus Bosch's famous work The Garden of Earthly Delights. This LORA is designed to capture many of the creatures of the painting, in the artist's unique style. Because the images used to train the model were of a high resolution of the current state of the artwork, the unique detail of old oil paint cracking is baked into the model.
I've only tested this on the SDXL base model. It worked very well when I paired it with LoRAs of celebrities -- although I opted to only share celebrities that the base checkpoint knew well on its own.
I did not get to tagging imagery from the Hell panel. It gets very complicated on that side and I decided perhaps a more uniform LoRA made sense. Perhaps a version of Hell is next. I made 40 cropped images of hell but did not have time to tag them before I had to start training.
Being a new model for me, and my first public model, please let me know what you make! I'd appreciate any feedback. I opted to post the 10th epoch, but got a lot of cool results with earlier epochs. I figured the most trained version could convey the most baked imagery from the dataset, but be watered down to mix well with other LoRAs. Is this model working for you?
