Sad the Miraculous Wiki doesn't acknowledge their other inspiration besides Totally Spies.
Those helmets are clearly a nod to Priss Asagiri's hardsuit.

@AzraelCain I was thinking more along the lines of "homage" really as far as the creative decision is concerned. After all, Ladybug's country of origin has generations of folks that grew up with Cat's Eye and other such classic anime dubbed in their country going in the animation industry.
Though my rant concerns more the editing of a fan wiki and the contributors' reference pool yet to acknowledge such a thing.
@CollateralDaMaGe You are right, but I mean the creator could have mentioned themselves the Knight Sabers as inspiration. They did not have to wait for the fan made wiki to do it for them. The wiki editors might have not even been aware of BubbleGum crisis.
@AzraelCain The central problem is that Bubblegum Crisis is so old and obscure that merely mentioning it causes confusion... Plus the same helmet designs are likely in other pieces of anime in the same period too. Considering the original miraculous OUGHT to be done in full anime, we can safely say that French corporate wants lip-service
