Plenty of checkpoints render people going commando, with low-rise pants stopping just shy of the dangly bits. With this LoRA, you should be able to put an extra layer on your subjects and let them show off those fashionable (overpriced) undies.
The LoRA has been trained on roughly 200 images and plays well with a number of semi-realistic and realistic checkpoints.
Caveats:
Waistband branding, logos, are hilariously garbled. (Improved in v2)
Some waistbands can show up extra thin, or extra thick. I haven't sorted out how to address that yet, so YMMV.
While it was trained mostly with male references, it works well on women too! Sometimes the checkpoint will add straps instead of a waistband, but that can be a good thing.
The LoRA has the accidental benefit of adding unique asymmetry to non-modern concepts, such as fantasy or sci-fi. It typically ends up rendering angled/lopsided wraps, belts, or similar waist adornments. Definitely a happy accident.
Updates for v3: My testing has had greatly improved interactions with a number of checkpoints with this new version, as I have refined the training images and tags significantly. With v3, you should start with a weight of 0.6, and make sure you include some kind of outerwear in your prompt, e.g. pants, sweatpants, trackies, jeans, etc., as it will likely only generate underwear.
Updates for v4 (Pony): Even in Pony, for all of its strengths, it's sometimes difficult to get the waistbands to show. So, as I am wont to do, I have created a new version of this LoRA to bring them back into view.
In this version:
Same dataset as v3, upscaled to 1024x1024
Depending on base model, you can go as low as 0.5 (maybe even lower!) and get the results you want without compromising quality.
Combining keywords wband with waistband can help in some cases and can hinder in others. YMMV.

Early Access! Many of my sample images are fast and dirty 512x512 with very little use of extensions or addons.

Oh yes! Thank you!!
There is a shortage of saggers in the world these days, and it's so bleepin' hard to get SD to understand that I want the waistband but not the whole pair of undies. But then you came along with this LoRA and changed that. 😁 I will most definitely be trying this one out. 🤍🤍🤍
Oh, and the way I see it... Yeah, underwear can be ridiculously overpriced, so if you're going to pay that much for it, then you should show it off, right? Right!
Let me know how it goes! I'm very open to feedback.
@invariable I see you made a v2 before I even got around to telling you about some of the issues I encountered. Nice. I'll give v2 a spin now. With v1, I found that it was not very good for inpainting. I had some images that I had made before you posted this LoRA, and I wanted to add waistbands to them. But... it didn't work very well. I'll try it with v2 as well, hopefully with better results.
@dita Ooh, I hadn't considered inpainting. I almost exclusively work without it because Automatic1111 fights me. I did have some luck with v2, where I inpaint masked from the subject's navel to groin and used the prompt: waistband <lora:wband:0.8> underwear, pants -- this worked really well in short order. Hope your experience is similar!
@invariable Cool, I'll start with your recommendation and see how it goes for me. I probably wouldn't normally inpaint with it either tbh, but I just wanted to try to get some waistbands onto this set of boys that I've been working on. But, even if I don't use it for that after these images, it's still good if it can do it. Someone else may want to use it in such a way.
@dita Makes perfect sense. Thanks!
