this is retrowave or synthwave aesthetic, not vaporwave.
If I call it Synthwave , people will start complaining that it is full with Vaporwave objects and concepts :)
So this is Retro 80s before anything else - like the name, description and images show :)

@ArsMachina aren't they all just subgenres of vaporwave, like how "trance" or "techno" is still essentially 'electronica?' and WHO in the slopwave said OUT RUN could be a genre? how long until we're arguing about rad racer and mario kart subgenres? i hate it so much.
@ArsMachina that specific sunset design, the tron style grid, the dark purple theme. this is clearly synthwave. when you think of classic vaporwave aesthetics, you think of light pink checkerboards, pastel pink to cyan gradients, and blocky windows 98 computers. the difference is basically night (synthwave) and day (classic vaporwave)
@fantabulicious synthwave is not even a sample-based genre.
It would be cool to have a strictly "vaporwave" and a strictly "synthwave"model, but you should name them both "vaporwave+synthwave" because the average joe doesn't know the term "synthwave" and will be searching for "vaporwave" (https://trends.google.com/explore?geo=Worldwide&q=vaporwave%2Csynthwave&date=all). The average joe doesn't know the difference and doesn't care. But you can educate them once they find you
