Alucard is a character from the Castlevania game series. He is the son of the legendary Count Dracula and the human Lisa, making him a Dhampir, half vampire and half human. Alucard made his debut in Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse for the NES, where his appearance was closer to that of his original counterpart from the classic Universal movies.

It was only in his second appearance, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, that Alucard became the iconic character we know today. Redesigned by Ayami Kojima, he gained a more bishōnen (handsome and refined) aesthetic, heavily inspired by the character D from Vampire Hunter D. This redesign also established Alucard as a swordsman, a role that would define his combat style in later games.

The Symphony of the Night and Alucard’s role made a big impact in the franchise. The game not only transformed Castlevania from a traditional platformer into the Metroidvania style — in fact, it’s one of the two games that gave the genre its name, alongside Metroid — but also expanded the franchise’s storytelling possibilities. Thanks to Alucard, new protagonists outside the Belmont clan could take center stage, and not every hero needed to wield a whip.

Alucard has since become one of the most prominent figures in the series, often positioned as a central or recurring lead in Castlevania crossovers. In Castlevania Judgment, he shares the spotlight with Simon Belmont, and he serves as the main protagonist in Grimoire of Souls. In stories set in modern times, Alucard lives among humans under the alias Genya Arikado.

He’s one of my all-time favorite video game characters alongside Mega Man X, Sonic the Hedgehog, Jin Kazama, Bartz Klauser and others. Unfortunately, there aren’t many official high-quality resources of him available. I did my best to work with what I had and achieved a reasonably good result.

While I also used some artwork of his Genya Arikado identity to train this model, the results were far below expectations. This model works best for his classic Alucard form. You can still try using the trigger word "ArikadoAoS" to generate Genya Arikado, but be warned, the results will likely look quite generic due to the lack of reference material.

No, I’m not going to make a model of the Netflix version. That’s completely out of the question.
