@ThrowawayAccoun42414 The real reason is that instead of doing something to protect creators on this site, they've just let Payment Processing companies determine what has artistic value or is high-risk. Even though no deals had been revoked from any site or service during that whole episode. Their job is to facilitate a safe space for creators of legal content; all of this is legal and fine, and they just fail to do so. In that failure they're basically securing this sites demise and it'll end up like tumblr with traffic and creators all leaving. Also, undressing is base Wan 2.2 motion already in the model.

@tenstrip the thing is a new model is always going to come out and Similar LORA's are going to be made. This is just a game of whack a mole. i would suggest Lora Manager, it keeps all the meta data and examples from the LORAs you download. They have a great chrome extension as well although is behind a paywall.

@ThrowawayAccoun42414 They deleted my "Ultimate Pussy and Anus helper" Lora aswell. I did not post a single sample to the model that involved undressing and it was just something the lora was capable of (WAN can do it without any Lora) and they still deleted it.

@skullzy77 I was not even an undressing lora, I was a general Puss and Anus Lora, The man purpose were spreads and masturbation. In the whole dataset of ~200 videos there was one or two samples that involved undressing

@tenstrip there's not really a ton more they can do. They already bombed the majority of their revenue by cutting ties with all of the main professors in order to keep nsfw content at all. I don't think the ban regarding the "normal photo->sex" tools has to do with payment processing, that part is to outright avoid lawsuits directly.

Could they risk hosting this stuff too? Probably, and it might work out. But it would also be risking the site as a whole to do so. And I don't know about you, but personally I don't know of any other decent alternative to civitai if this place does go down (whether due to lawsuits or not making enough money to cover costs). It's a tightrope and I think I can sympathize with the tradeoffs made in order to keep most of the NSFW content.

But that's also just my personal take on it, everyone has their own perspective and they're all valid (...*mostly* at least. The "cp is good!" weirdos are still fucked up, obviously)

Someone with authority takes an issue something; they can request a take down of it. They're just flat out over-moderating at this point there's no defense of it. Most boomers who would come to this site will not even see nsfw content it's hidden away already.

So tell me this, if they're actually just removing NSFW content because they want to: why didn't they do it instead of getting booted off their payment processors? Why would they want to wait and then get the worst of both worlds? You're making up a narrative that makes no sense whatsoever and also has no evidence supporting it, but it's better outrage fuel so you're going with it anyways.

@ThrowawayAccoun42414 Well you seem to know next to nothing. Every case against generative AI has been a massive loss and Ai has won, and that's on way bigger grounds around copyright. Why would anyone even bring suit against this site, it makes 0 real world sense. Representatives for The Botez sisters didn't like their likeness being used on this site, so they requested them to be taken down and the site did. I know because top level staff personally notified me of it because my Lora was one of them. No reason to go to court when you can just push these guys on civit over. Bringing suit is tens/hundreds of thousands of dollars on both sides, I see 0 logical way to take suit against this site to get money over anything. It's a little gimmicky generative AI site for amateurs. My narrative makes way more sense than them enforcing rules that don't even apply, they assume these loras have clear intent to be used on real photos.

@tenstrip Until some bigger law just bans the site usage from a country like the UK did. Everything could go down in a blink with the right methods, fast and easy, and nuking everything even archives, HF/GH and ComfyUI, all would be taken down at the same time.

@tenstrip This is getting dumb, so I'm done after this. I don't know why you brought up the copyright lawsuits because it has zero to do with any of this. The issues with NSFW tooling and models doesn't have anything to do with copyright lawsuits, that's not how any of this works.

Secondly: why are you assuming it's individuals threatening the site over likenesses, rather than something like the hosting and distribution of "revenge porn tools" for example (one of the arguments made against deepfake sites in California, a few years back).

You still haven't actually explained what the motivation for randomly removing stuff after they already slaughtered their revenue stream in order to keep NSFW content before. You're just assuming they're doing it to be mean and for no reason, rather than taking the more reasonable assumption of there being external factors. Between that, and that you've shown you definitely aren't exactly legally educated, I'm not interested in engaging with your comments anymore.

Everyone is entitled to their own take, and reasonable people will use reason to come to their conclusions while unreasonable people won't. Hopefully other people that stumble on this conversation come to their own conclusions based on the facts I pointed out, but if not then so be it 🤷
